LETTER OF INVITATION: „Securing NATO’s Eastern Frontier and its neighbouring regions”
Hilton Garden Inn Hotel (12 Doamnei street), Cișmigiu conference room, 7th of December, 2 p.m.
“Up to Us” Association, together with the Hanns Seidel Foundation – Romania and the Centre for Conflict Prevention and Early Warning will jointly hold this year, on 7th of December, a public debate regarding the security of NATO’s Eastern Frontier and its neighbouring regions. This conference of transatlantic importance will bring together European security and defense officials (Germany, UK, Ukraine, Romania and Moldova).
The conference is necessary given the fact that the transatlantic link will have to overcome many obstacles, some of which are new or have become particularly acute. The topics included on the agenda are the changing nature of the EU itself, following the imminent exit of the United Kingdom, the wave of populism and extremism, public disinformation campaigns, the increasingly divergent opinions on Russia and involvement in Eastern Europe, and the push for creation of a European army.
The conference aims to bring trans-Atlantic cooperation to Romania, Ukraine and Republic of Moldova and to establish a cooperation mechanism between these countries. As Russian destabilization is continuing in the region the conference aims to bring together public officials from Romania, Ukraine and Republic of Moldova.
This is the 3rd conference on this topic organized by the “Up to Us” Association, Hanns Seidel Foundation and Center for Conflict Prevention and Early Warning. The previous two editions were big successes.
